May 2015 Fun

May has been a great month.

Our Anniversary
Steve and I celebrated 8 years of marriage on May 5th.  I feel so blessed to have spent the last 8 years married to this wonderful guy.  He is such a hard worker and an even better daddy.  We celebrated our anniversary with a night out by ourselves.  Anne had a wonderful time at a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's.  It was very nice to have a relaxing evening alone.  We went to a bed and breakfast in Syracuse, Indiana.  There wasn't much to do in Syracuse, so before picking up Anne we stopped and saw a movie, The Avengers.  The movie had its entertaining parts.  Personally, I thought it started out a little slow but by the end it was entertaining.

There was a jacuzzi tub right in the room.
Mother's Day
May 10th was Mother's Day.  Mother's Day can be a difficult day for some.  Whether, it's because of loss or infertility for some wonderful ladies the day is not filled with happiness and joy.  I understand this all too well.  I remember dreading the day, avoiding TV and news because everything was about Mother's Day.  Everything was a reminder of the lives we lost.  I know what's it's like to hate going to grocery store or the mall because there were babies and pregnant ladies everywhere.  I'm keenly aware that when I go out with Anne or even without Anne now I'm pregnant again that I may be bringing pain to someone without even meaning to.  That makes Mother's Day all the more special to me.  God has blessed us with two beautiful angels that we will forever be connected to, one little girl that we hold in our arms, and another I hold inside.

Mother’s Day is a celebration of ALL mothers, whether you hold your children in your arms, you hold your children in your hearts because God holds them in Heaven, or you hold them inside expecting them this year.
Our family made a reservation for lunch at Legends at Notre Dame.  It's becoming somewhat of a tradition, I think.  We came here last year too.  The food and atmosphere are very good.  Afterwards, the family enjoys walking around the Notre Dame campus but it was rainy.  I love being a mom to my sweet Anne.  On Mother's Day, I was 23 weeks with our second miracle.  We very much look forward to the arrival of our second rainbow in September.

Of course, I would be wrong to not honor my own mom.  I have learned so much from my mom about being a mom.  I hope that someday I am as good of a mom as she is.  I am extremely blessed that she is able to watch Anne while I work.  It feels good to know that I don't have to worry about her care when I'm away from her.

Memorial Day Weekend
This weekend, Steve's mom visited town on Sunday and since South Bend was celebrated its 150th Anniversary we joined in the festivities.  After lunch, we headed to downtown.  I thought is was actually quite well done.  The entire kid's area was free.  I love free fun.

On Monday, my parents had their annual Memorial Day picnic. So after the parade, Anne and I worked on making some deviled eggs, which my dad helped me finish at their house.  It rained for about 20 minutes during the parade but turned out to be a beautiful day.

She tried her hand at a bouncy slide with her Sister-in-Law, Julieanne and her cousin, Jacob.
Papa shared his chocolate ice cream cone with me. ~ Anne

Happy 7th Anniversary

Yesterday, Steve and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary with dinner at Carabba's Italian Restaurant.  We, of course, then had to watch the new season of '24'.  '24' was our Date Night tv show on Monday nights.

Love You, Steve

Celebrating Our Anniversary

This weekend, Steve and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.  It was an absolutely beautiful weekend in South Bend.  On Saturday, Steve and I celebrated by going to out to dinner to Salsas Mexican Restaurant.  I love Mexican food but I forgot that our anniversary is a "holiday" until we got there and it was packed.  We got a sit pretty quickly out on the patio outside and there was a live band playing.  The food was really good, as usual.

Sunday was our actual anniversary and I had the whole day off work.  It was marvelous.  Steve had to work though. {Sad face}  Sunday, after church and lunch, Steve had to go to Sears and I had a great day of relaxing ahead of me.  Actually, I was quite busy but nothing on the schedule.  I went shopping, visited some some friends, did some things to get ready for our garage sale, and then visited Steve at Sears for Friends and Family night.

Oh and Steve wanted to celebrate our anniversary by posting this announcement on Facebook Sunday morning before church.  He had some fun creating it.  My sister took some great pictures of us and so I posted some of them too.
We ended the day by listening to our baby's heart beat on the Doppler and Steve recorded it.  That sound never gets old.

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

I can't believe it's been three years already.  It feels like just yesterday we were getting married.  I think I learn something else I love about him every day.  We celebrated our Anniversary by going to Ruth Chris's Steakhouse for dinner.  It's an upscale restaurant in Granger.  I had heard some really good reviews about it and I have had also heard that it was really expensive.  Both of those are very correct.
The service was great. I love when I can see the servers helping each other out, working as a team.  The food came out really fast and very hot.  When they warn you not to touch the plate because it's hot, don't touch the plate because it's hot.  We both got steaks and they were REALLY good.
Would I recommend that you save up and budget and go at least once for a special occasion?  Yes.  It's definitely a once in a while restaurant choice.  My dinner came with a desert and the sugar coma I was in later that night was Totally worth it.

Celebrating our 2 Year Anniversary

Today we are celebrating our 2nd year of marriage. It has been a really exciting year. We paid of our credit cards, bought a house, starting working 2 jobs, paid off our cars, starting saving up money to fix the house up, spent time with friends and family...and so much more. It seemed like this year when by SO FAST.

I am so blessed though. God has been providing for us like crazy. I am so thankful for my amazing husband. I'm looking forward to the many years ahead of us. It's been an adventure, but so worth it.

Last Sunday, we went to Famous Daves for our Anniversary. We hadn't been there since they had the fire. I forgot how much I loved their food. It was so good. Tonight after work, we are going to pick up what I got him for our Anniversary. Pictures of them will come once he has it all put together.
