When I got back on my Wii Fit after having Anne, I learned a few things. The first thing I learned is that I hadn't been on the Wii Fit since March 2012. Then I learned that in March 2012, I weighed more (about 20 pounds more) than I weighed after having Anne. So that told me a few things about myself. It told me that when I'm stressed and anxious, I eat and don't exercise and it taught me that I can't let that be a pattern.
This summer one my goals is to get back to my "pre-pregnancy" weight.
In order for a goal to work, you need a plan so I plan do that by going on walks with after dinner on nice evenings. Anne loves to be outside so this is a plus for both of us and I want to work more in my garden. Eating well on a tight is sometimes a challenge but with some planning, I think I can do that too.
So, today is the start of a new healthier Pitney family.

Run jane run 2011
Well, that was really fun. My friend, Sue, and I walked the 5K for the YWCA's run jane run. The money raised goes to support the domestic violence, sexual assault, and housing programs at the YWCA. It was a beautiful day and I love being out in nature at St. Pat's Park. Sue and I finished the walk in 59 minutes and six seconds. We were pretty happy with our time. I was happy to see so many people out to support the YWCA. It's a great organization.
I'm a little tired, so I think I'm going to do some cool down stretches before I have to go to work this afternoon. My body wants to take a nap but the expert runners tell me that will cause me to cramp up.

Wii Fit

Steve got me a Wii Fit for Christmas. Secretly, I think he just wanted to get the Wii so he could play Mario Cart. It's been fun though. At first I was a little leary about it because it is really expensive. I didnt grow up with video games because my parents thought they were a waste of time and a waste of money. I have to admit though the Wii Fit is really fun. We have been trying to get in the habit of playing on it a little bit every night. We are doing alright so far. The Wii Fit gives you a fitness test every day and gives you a Wii Fit Age. My Age the first night was 41. That disturbed me. :0) Last night it was 29 so I feel better now.
I am so sore today though. I didnt realize that I was so out of shape. I think I will find that is a much better way to exercise. One of my biggest obstacles to going to the gym is actually driving there. Once I get home from work, make dinner, and eat, It's usually late and I dont really want to leave the house again.
