If You Want Me To by Ginny Owens

If You Want Me To by Ginny Owens

The pathway is broken
And The signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to

Chorus:
Cause I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
so if all of these trials bring me closer to you
Then I will walk through the fire
If You want me to

It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'd never go alone

ya oh oh no

So When the whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering Your love put You through
And I will go through the valley If You want me to

You're Still God by Kathy Troccoli

You're Still God by Kathy Troccoli

Jesus,I love you
And I believe all that you've said.
I know your promises, they are true
Beyond my questions
And times when I just don't understand
Help me remember Lord
The answer's in your hands
So I sit at your feet and I listen
For your ways are much higher then mine

Do what you want to do,I give my all to you
Whatever you ask of me
Lord fill me with your grace.
Do what you got to do,I surrender my life to you.
I'm never whitout a prayer.
You're hope inside my heart.
I know you're still God

Jesus,I need you
I have been wandering in the dark.
Whenever I call your name
There you are
You have been faithful
Even when I have I have turned away.
I've seen your mercy
Always light my way.
So I sit at your feet and I listen
For your ways are much higher then mine.

Every storm you lead me trough
I will put my trust in you
Give me grace to carry on

Mandisa: Voice of the Savior

I heard this song on the way to Sears yesterday and I really liked it, so I'm sharing it with you.

Mandisa-Voice of the Savior

Some people try to listen, to the bottom of a bottle
Some people try to listen, to a needle in their arm
Some people try to listen, to the money in their pocket
Some people try to listen, to another’s arms

{Chorus}
You and I are not that different
We got a void and we’re just trying to fill it up
With something that will give just a little peace
All we want is a hand to reach to
Open arms that say I love you
We’d give anything to hear
The voice of a Savior

Some people try to find it with blind ambition
Some people try to find it where no one else has gone
Some people try to find it in the crowns of victory
Some people get defeated and lose the strength to carry on

{Chorus}

Some people try to find it in the shadow of a steeple
Some people try to find it in the back row pew
Some people try to find it in the arms of Jesus
That’s where I found it, how about you?

Overcoming Domestic Violence: There is Hope!

Source for video

Amy Grant: Ask Me

I see her as a little girl

Hiding in her room
She takes another bath
And she sprays her mama's perfume

To try to wipe away

The scent he left behind
But it haunts her mind

You see, she's his little rag

Nothing more than just a waif
And he's mopping up his need
She is tired and afraid
Maybe she'll find a way
Through these awful years
To disappear

Ask me if I think there's a God up in the Heaven

Where did He go in the middle of her shame?
Ask me if I think there's a God up in the Heaven
I see no mercy, and no one down here's naming names
Nobody's naming names

Now, she's looking in the mirror

At a lovely woman face
No more frightened little girl
Like she's gone without a trace

Still she leaves the light

Burning in the hall
It's hard to sleep at all

'Til she crawls up in her bed

Acting quiet as a mouse
Deep inside, she's listening
For a creaking in the house
But no one's left to harm her
She's finally safe and sound
There's a peace she has found

Ask her how she knows there's a God up in the Heaven

Where did He go in the middle of her shame
Ask her how she knows there's a God up in the Heaven
She said His mercy is bringing her life again

She's coming to life again

One More Day!

Tommorrow, we leave for our trip. I'm not sure if we will have access to a computer while we are down there or not. I'm going to attempt to post from my phone, for the first time, during the trip. Apparently, I only have 160 characters though. That's alot harder than I thought.

Dave Ramsey: Town Hall For Hope

The Town Hall for Hope has finally been uploaded to Hulu.com. I went and saw it "live" via simulcast with my friend, Stacey. It was pretty inspiring. It is about 90 minutes long, but totally worth the time. Watch it over and over again with friends. Dave is hilarious, yet insightful.

There is hope out there.

Anne Murray:Little Good News

Anne Murray:Little Good News

I rolled out this morning
Kids had the mornin' news show on
Bryant Gumbel was talkin' 'bout the fighting in Lebanon
Some senator was squawkin' 'bout the bad economy
It's gonna get worse you see, we need a change in policy

There's a local paper rolled up in a rubber band
One more sad story's one more than I can stand
Just once how I'd like to see the headline say
"Not much to print today, can't find nothin' bad to say", because

Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town
Nobody OD'ed, nobody burned a single buildin' down
Nobody fired a shot in anger, nobody had to die in vain
We sure could use a little good news today

I'll come home this evenin'
I'll bet that the news will be the same
Somebody takes a hostage, somebody steals a plane
How I wanna hear the anchor man talk about a county fair
And how we cleaned up the air, how everybody learned to care
Whoa, tell me

Nobody was assassinated in the whole Third World today
And in the streets of Ireland, all the children had to do was play
And everybody loves everybody in the good old USA
We sure could use a little good news today

Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town
Nobody OD'ed, nobody burned a single buildin' down
FADE
Nobody fired a shot in anger, nobody had to die in vain
We sure could use a little good news today

Reverse Discrimination?

Why is always only ok to Discriminate against White people and Christians?
Imagine if it was the other way around. Imagine for a second, if they had decided not to promote anyone because only minorities passed the test. ACLU and Al Sharpton would be all over it, but since the only people that were discriminated against are white (and one Hispanic)...then it's no big deal. Right?

20 Somethings and Money

Do you ever hear financial advice and think, "Oh man, I wish I would have known this when I was younger." I know I have. In this video, Dave Ramsey takes calls from 20-somethings and gives them advice on money. It's a must see video if you are in your 20's now, will be in a few years, or you wish you were 20 again. :0)

3And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:3

32"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Luke 12:32-34

A True Hero

Watch the Video Here

Read the stories here

This pilot showed an amazing amount of calm and saved every single one of his passengers. Wow! He even walked up and down the cockpit, while it was filling with water, just to make sure everyone got off. Then he called his library and apologized that he would not be able to return his library book because it was in the hull of the plane. The book's subject: Professional Ethics.

Mike Huckabee on Fox

Just in case you haven't been following the news, this is the story he is referring to in the video.

Pilot landed in Hudson to avoid 'catastrophic consequences'
Possible Bird Found in Engine of US Airways Jet

Watch the video of Mike Huckabees here

The best quote: He was reponding the question, "Why does God answer some prayers, but not others?"

"A finite mind can never fully comphrehend an infinite God and if God is so understandable that I can fully understand him, then He is not much of a God."
-Mike Huckabee

The above story could have turned out much different and much more tragic, but in the mist of an economic downturn and a preceived loss of hope, God decided to show His power.

Obama Presidential Inauguration

I have to admit that the speech was a bit inspiring. He certaintly does have a way of instilling hope in people and probably why so many people blindly follow him. The speech did sound a bit like the same retoric he said in his election speeches though. It is truly a historic inauguration. I did not vote for Obama, but I wish him the best of luck. He has a big job in front of him, as would any President. With 2 wars, an economic crisis, and so much mis-trust of the government, he has alot on his plate. I pray that God gives him the wisdom to make the right decisions.

I actually watched the whole speech, but I couldn't post the whole thing.

Why Our Kids Will Never Have a Cell Phone

Link

Some kids are way to spoiled. Steve and I have decided that our kids will not get a cell phone until they have a job and can pay for it themselves. If they don't pay the bill, then they lose the cell phone.
If you feel your child NEEDS a cell phone, then why not get a plan that doesn't allow text messages and only allows calls during certain times and only allows a certain amount of minutes each month.

I remember surviving just fine as a kid without a cell phone.
